Ho was standing on a shingle bank at tho mouth of tho river, when he was washed off by a waveband carried into the main stroam. His body had not boen recovered when the messenger left. Deceasod wesover 60 years of age. Ho leaves a widow and grown-up family. . Nelson, last night.

Charles Duncan, a well-known young man of Tnkaka, was killed this morning by a loaded dray overturning on him at his father’s farm. The horse became unmanageable while going down a outting. Death was instantaneous.
