Pej( Press Association. Christchurch, last night.

A sensational report has been made by the Sumner fishermen in connection with the denso fog that hung about Che coast and Lyttelton Heads on Friday morning. They state thut on going out from Sumner at about 10 o’clock, when the fog was very thick, tEay suddenly came in sight of ,a large steamer within a mile of Cave Hock, going dead slow, but she slewed sound and went out to sea. At the spot where they saw the steamer thero was only about 35 feet of water. Had ■ she continued for ten minutes longer tho course she was evidently taking must have piled her up on the beach.
