PROTEST BY LIBERAL ASSOCIATION.

Ab the meeting of the above 'Association last evening, Mr T. J, Dicl-son presided. Mr Harris said there was one thing he would like to see settled— Dias “old octopus,” the Trust Estate. A Board had been set up, and a solution ol the matter was as; far off as ever. The Board was not effective, through want oi energy. Members were well paid, and had been there long enough to throw lands open for settlement; Let tho Government buy the land, that the farmers may settle upon it and mate it productive ; the cash could be fought about afterwards. Tolago Bay had been strangled through Parcmatr and other lands not being opened up. The Liberal Association had done more for Tolago Bay than any other association or society in th“ district.
