(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. The Military Board to hear the charges against Captain Fisher, of the Civil Service Rifles, for a breach of the volunteer regulations, in writing a letter to the press re the patriotic fund, sat this morning. The Board is composed of Colonial Webb (president), Majors Lindsay and Chalmers. The press were excluded. Reefton, last night. An old resident of Reefton, Mr Philip Salmon, suicided at an early hour this morning, drowning himseli in the Inangahua river. 111-health and domestic troublos are supposed to bo tho cause. THAMES, last night. The Registrar of Old Age Pensions at Wellington, through the deputyregistrar for Thames, lately took proceedings against an old age pensioner for recovery of the sum of £ls, paid in excess of the amount of pension which she was entitled to during the first, second and third years. It appears pensioner had money on fixed deposit in the local banks which she failed to disclose, and obtained a greater amount than sho was entitled to. When served with a summons she paid the amount into Court,
