WANGANUI RACES.
(Per Press Association.^ Wanganui, last night. Thera was glorious weather and a large attendance for tho second day of the Wanganui Spring Meeting. The totalisator figures were £6918, as against £6983 for the second day of last year. Tho receipts for the meeting amounted to £13,846, as against £14,039 tor last year. The results were :
Owen Stakes.— Gold Seal 1, Regulation 2, Mel wood 3. Also started : Black Reynard, Starshoot, Matuku, Auratus, Sympathy, and Glory. Won by a clear length. Time 1.15, diva £5 10s 6d and 2)1 17s 6d.
Moutoa Hack Handicap.—Lass 0’ Gowrie 1, Sandy 2, Firelight 3. Also started : The Ganger, Kidbrook, Opaeae, Noneen, Commonwealth, Land 0’ Oakes, St. Evangolino. Won by a length and a-half. Time 1.17, divs. £3 2s and £2 Os 6d. Second Hurdles.—Kohunui 1, Mourner 2. Beau Ideal also started but fell when leading. Time 3.24, div. £4 7s 6d. Second Hack Hurdles.—Mootoropuku 1, Pushful 2, Waireka 3. Also started : Tho Dauber. Won easily by three lengths. Time 3.23 3-5, div. £5 Bs. Wanganui Stakes.—Tradewind 1, Dexterity 2, Windwhistle 3. Also started : Shrapnel, Hinetaura, Battleaxe, Ringman. Won by three lengths, Shrapnel stumbled. Time 2.13, divs. £23 7s and £4 0s 6d. Railway Handicap.—Roseal 1, Asteroid 2, Tirolo 3. Also started : Inglewood, Hydrant, Little Turk, Commonwealth Black Squall. Won with great ease. A protest for iuconsistent running was dismissed. Time T. 15 35, divs. £2 15s 6d and £1 5s 6d. Marangai Stakes.—Regulation 1, Hinekoa 2, Betsy 3. Also started : Glory and Black Wing. Won by three-quarters of a length.
