A fire occurred this morning at the residence of Mr William E. Mills, St. Albans, and damage estimated at LSOO was sustained. The building was insured for LBOO in the Northern Insurance Company, and the contents for L 250 in the South British. OAMARU, last night.

The Harbor Board to-day resolved to proceed with the erection of wharf accommodation for large steamers and dredging, entailing a cost of L 15,000, and to have a Bill prepared for submission to Parliament giving the necessary authority.
