By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright London, Sopt. 27. It lia3 boon decided to re-arm the cavalry with a new, 'light, straightthrusting sword gun. A committee has adopted a fifteenpounder quick-firing field gun, firing effective shrapnel at 6500 yards at Stokehqmpton, Devon, to ten thousand yards. It is considered to bo the best of its kind in Europe. General Hunter, who, it was reported, has been appointed to the command of tho Madras forces, has been transferred to the' Bombay command, n succession to General Law.
