MOROCCO.
A FRENCH PROTECTORATE. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright London, Sept. 27. The Daily Mail’s Paris correspondent says that arrangements between Great Britain and France have been effected, with the acquiesence of Spain and the knowledge of Italy, to establish a French protectorate in Morocco. Provision is made for a neutral strip aloug the coast. Great Britain will be compensated elsewhere by an exchange for the arrangement. There are indications that France is ready to intervene to help thc_ Sultan of Morocco. ’■*' The Daily Mail’s Berlin correspondent states that under the arrangement Italy receives Tripoli, whilst Great Britain’s protectorate in Egypt is recognised and strengthened, Germany being satisfied with commercial privileges in Morocco and an open-door to trade.
