The Co-operative Societies have subscribed upwards of one-half of the Bethesda workmen’s new quarries. The sum of twenty thousand pounds is required, of which eighteen thousand pounds have been subscribed. Capetown, Sept. 25. The Bond was absolutely opposed to tho proposals. Sydney, Sept. 26. The barque Aurora experienced terrific weather in Australian waters during the last three weeks. She had her sails blown to ribbons, and was thrown on her beam ends. In the gale when she lost her rudder she sprang a leak, making two inches an hour. A steamer passed her on Thursday night, but took no notice of the distress signals.
