Per Press Association, CHRISTCHURCH, last nighty The City Council this evening made considerable progress in regard to the water supply scheme lately submitted to it. The proposal is to pump water into a reservoir on the Port Hills, and havfi a system of roticulution throughout tho city. The estimated cost is £150,000, and the estimated working exponses £IO,OOO. Tho Council has not yet fiuishod with tho Bchemo, and tho system of rating and other matters have to bo dealt with.
