CITY DRAINAGE. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. The question of drainage has been brought under the notice of the City Council by a letter from the district health officer, and it was decided that the ■ Streets Committee should report on the whole question of drainage of the city. MAYORAL ADDRESS.
The Mayor, in an address to the newly elected Council, said several important matters would have to be dealt with, including improved water supply, drainage, public abattoirs, destructor, and sanitary arrangements. MASONIC JUBILEE. New Plymouth, last night.
The Mount Egmonfc Lodge of FreeMasons celebrated its Jubilee by a large gathering last night, the Grand Master of Wellington district and officers attending. BORING FOR PETROLEUM. An application is before the Harbor Board to-day from the Now Zealand Oil Wells Proprietary Company, of Adelaide, for potroloum boring rights at Moturoa.
