There has boon a strong easterly galo with heavy rain all day. It continues and shipping is delayed. Soaking rain is gonerai. It was heaviest out west, up to threo inches being recordod. Brisbane, Sept. 17.
There has been heavy rain in tho southern and central divisions. Tho Mitchell river is rising rapidly, and a big flood is expected. Porcupine plains aro Hooded, The water is over tho ceutral railway in sevoral places.
