DAMAGE THROUGH FIRE.

(Per Press Association.) Napier, last night. In the Supremo Court to-day a civil action, William Catoy v. W. W. S. Hales, a claim for £250 0s 6d, damages for property destroyed through a fire spreading from defendant’s to plaintiff’s land, at Weber was heard. Evidence was given to the effect thaf the parties to the action were owners of adjacent pieces of land at Weber. About the 16th of March defendant lit a fire on his land, and it spread to Catey’s, destroying hayshed, cowshed, foulyard, and doing other damage. Judgment was given for plaintiff for £l6B and costs.
