GOLF TOURNAMENT.

Palmerston North, last night. There was beautiful weather for the final day of the Golf Tournament on Saturday, and great interest was taken in the competitions. In the final for the Open Championship, A. Duncan beat H. Gillies after an exciting contest, 3 up and 1 tQ play, The Ladies’ Championship was won by Miss Rutherford, late of Wairarapa, in 108 strokes. In the Teams Match, Manawatu v. Visitors, the latter won. Harold beat Gillies, 6up and 4to play, and A. Duncan beat Nicolaus, 2 up.
