In the House on Tuesday afterneen, when question time arrived, Mr Seddon said Ministers had not had time to consider questions since they hap got back to ■Wellington. Ho therefore asked that the House should go on with the consideration nf the Estimates. .Sir William Russell protested at the refusal to answer questions. It was all -very arell for Ministers to go junketing up to Wairarapa, and then to tell the House that they had not had time to consider -questions. He pointed out that all the Ministers who had been away were not able to do business the next day. (Laughter.) Rut he contended that Ministers -should answer questions in accordance with thq standing Orders. Mr; Seddon said they could take a horse to the water, but they could not make him -drink. Ho explained that all questions were considered by Ministers in Cabinet. (Laughter.) He reiterated that this was ;so. sit was their rule to do it every day ai 1 o’clock. They had not been able to do it that day.
