Fears have been entertained during the past few days that an oil launch, belonging to Mr Turner, of Admiralty Bay, French Pass, had foundered during the gale, but enquiries now obojy that the date of the supposed fatality was a fortnight ago, and that Turner was seen last Saturday, while the fact of no communication being made with the Union steamers indicates that the previous rumors were un, founded. A launch was seen making bad weather and then lost sight of, but the belief now is that Bhe was only obscured by a passing squall. The boat picked up off Croixelles drifted from her moroings, and Morgan, her owner, was seen to-day.
