A FATAL SPREE.
A BUSHFELLER’S SAD END. Per Press Association. Wellington, last night. Last night a bushfellor named William Brown came to town from Maatorton district, and went to stay at a boardinghouse in Manners street. He commenced drinking heavily, and on Tuesday morning was found in bed in a state of collapse, with blood oozing from his mouth and nose. He died shortly after. A postmortem examination revealed a fracture o£ the skull just above the left temple, which it was supposed had been caused within twenty-four hours of death. An inquiry into the matter commenced yesterday, and concluded to-day. No evidence was forthcoming to\ show how the man was injured, and the jury returned an open verdict.
