Per Press Association, WELLINGTON, last night. The House met 'at 2.30. The Financial debate was continued by Messrs E. M. Smith and Vile. The debate suddenly collapsed at 4.35, and Mr Seddon (who was receiving the licensing Nekton deputation) was deprived of his then went into Committoeof cSnnnlv for the consideration of Estimates. The usual lengthy debate on the first item was entered upon, the discussion being interrupted by the 5.30 adjournment. The House resumod at 7.30. THE ESTIMATES."

Thomson urged the necessity for a reduction of departmental expenditUMr Seddon said he could not see where any economy could be effected in that Tanner drew attention to the large increase which had taken place during the last twelve years in regard to pension and compensation allowances.
