The Canadian revenue cutter Petrel discovered the American fishing tug Silver Spray on the Canadian side of Lake Erie. The Silver Spray refusing to stop, the Petrel fired twenty Bhots riddlmg her rigging and wounding two men. The Silver Spray eventually reached the American shore, and the Petrel stopped outside the three-mile limit.
