WELLINGTON NEWS.

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. At the annual meeting of the Welling, ton Meat Export Company, hold this afternoon, the chairman of directors, Mr W. E. Buchanan, said that the balancesheet was most satisfactory. There were 71,120 more animals dealt with during the year than in the previous year, and they would have exceeded this if the capa, city of the works had egualled the demand. A most gratifying feature was the increase in the number of stock frozen on account of owners. The price paid settlers for stock had been substantially higher than for a good many years, It was preposed to extend the works to an extent to enable them to deal with 2000 more sheep per day, in time for next season. A verdict of suicide was returned in the case of Bichard Brassington, accountant, found in a dying state on Monday.
