A meeting of the hop and barley growers of tho Waimea Plains was hold at Richmond on Saturday. A strong feeling was evincod in favor of legislation to enforce the sale of only puro malt and hop beer. An opinion has also set strongly in favor of tho enforcement of the provisions of the licensing laws so as to minimise excessive drinking. It was unanimously resolved that a deputation of representative barioy and hop growers should join a deputation leaving Blenheim on the 17th inst., to wait upon tho and express the views of growers on the licensing question.
