The driver of the train ut Glasgow expected to proceed to the long platform, and did not shut off steam in time to stop at the short platform. Xho brake power was insufficient to stop the train. P’ourteeu people were killed, and 50 injured, twenty seriously.

The driver has been arrested. Many victims had to be cut out of the wreckage.
