SOME SAD CASES. (Per Press Association.) Hokitika, last night. Dr Cory, aged 41, surgeon superintendent of the Ross Hospital, died yesterday ; it is supposod from an overdose of an opiate, self-administered. He had been suffering from insomnia. A few months ago fie arrived from Queensland with his wife* Alfred Good, injured by a falling tree 'When engaged in survey work threo J months ago below Ross, died in the i hospital to-day from the result of injuries received. Ho leaves a wife and family of six. Dunedin, last night. A shooting incident of a serious Dature occurred last evening at St. Clair. Edward John Heppeltbwaite, aged 21 years, resid■■j, j Qg a t Cargill road, South Dunedin, shot himself with a revolver. The incident •f to ok place on the sandhills behind Forbury P.i'k.
