ALLEGED'THEFT. £Per Press Association^ Dunedin, last night. A woman named Uhristina Aidreu was convicted to ds.y on three charges of stealing goods trom shop fronts, and was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. A number of charges have still to bo heard. KAIKORAI TRAMWAY. The directors of tho Kaikorai Tramway Company have declared an interim dividend for the half-year at the rate of 6 per cent, per annum. This is the second cable line to Rosiyn and Kaikorai. AN EXTRAORDINARY CASE. At the Invercargill Police Court to-day Guisseppe Wulli, a member of a foreign family long settled in tue Wairio district, was charged with setting fire to four stacks of oaten sheaves, valued at .£l5O, tne property of Win. O'Dowd, at Opio. Accused was remanded, bail being allowed in £sllO and two sureties of £250 each, luspector Mitohell urged that tue bail should be substantial, us there were some extraordinary surroundings in this case, aud that the district was more or less terrorised by the aecused’s family.
