MINING AT WAIHI.

AN IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT,

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, last night. Information has been received that at the Waihi Grand Junction minß a bore hole being-put down from the chamber at the 500 ft level penetrated 40ft into the reef, and that the first assay gave an average result of £8 10s per ton. This development is of the utmost importance,, as it proves that the Waihi reef system is continued into the Grand Junotion area below the lowest point hitherto worked in the latter company’s property.
