Oriole and Duke of Westminster also started. Deceived 6.13 p.m., July 19. , London, July 18. Ard Patrick won by a neok, three lengths separating second and third. Book Sand was first away, but Oriole soon nuppiauted him, Ard Patrick and Soeptre being third and fourth. A mile from home Ard Patrick drew in front, followed by Bock Sand and Sceptre; At the quarter mile post Sceptre ran up second, and pressing Ard Patrick the pair fought out a desperate finish. Duke of Westminster was fourth. Mr Qubbins sold Ard Patrick to Count Lamsdorff for twenty thousand guineas, retaining the right to run the horse throughout the season.
