MESSRS WILLIAMS AND KETTLE’S REPORT.
Messrs Williams and Kettle, Ltd., report holding their stock sale at the_ Matawhero yards on Thursday, when their yard, i D <r consisted of about 3QOO sheep, 285 head of cattle, 30 pigs, etc. The demand was keen for all classes, which found realy sale under the hammer at satisfactory prices, Sheep : The whole of the entry was cleared under the hammer at prices quite Is in advance of the .June sale. .We f quote • Two-tooth wethers (backward stores), 11s 3d, 11s 6d, 11s 9d; forward stores up to IBs 9d, full-mouth empty storo ewes 7s 4d to 7s 6d, forward ewes 9s Id to 10s lOd, fat ewes lls 5d to 12s 83, owes in lamb lls Id, hoggets (poor) 63 103.
Cattle : The following prices were realised : Fat cows £6 2s. 6d to £8 10s, forward heifers £5 10s, station cows £4 to £i 12s 63, springers *£6 to £B, calves (good sorts) £2 7s 6d to £3 Is, store three-year-old steers £7 ss, fat steers £Bl2s 63. „ , Pigs : Weaners 10s, and breedmg sows £1 15s. , Horses : Two good draught mares made £55, hacks up to £lO 2s 6d. Our next sale will be held on Thursday, August 6th,
LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT,
Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company furnish the following report of the stook sale held at Matawhero on the . 16th Inst i The day was showery, but this did not prevent the usual large attendance. Sheep appeared to be in brisk demand, and although the entry was above tho average for the time of year, yet tho demand was far from satisfied when the sale concluded. The following we the day's quotations•
Sheep: Two-tooth wethers, 11s Id to 11s lOd; full-mouth ewes (empty), 63 6d to 8s 4d; cull ewes, 4s 6d to ss; fat ewes, 12s sd.
Cattle: Our entry was small, and consisted for the most part of heifers forward lin calf. For herd Jots we sold at £5 8s to £5 10s; dairying sorts, £6 12s to £7 15s; fat cows, light weights, to £6 17s 6d; calves, 41s to 47s 6d. Pigs: A fair' number came forward. We sold good porkers at from 20s to 255; store pigs, 16s; weacers, 5s to 7s 6d.
Our next sale will be held on the 6th August, when we expect a continued demand for all descriptions of sheep and cattle.
