(Per Press Association.) t Wellington, last night. . A deputation from the Municipal Asso- . elation waited on the Premier to-day, and '■ brought under his notice a resolution passed at yesterday’s conference. Mr . Soddon’s attention was drawn to the fact that Charitable Aid Boards hjd no power to buy, land or put up buildings. They only had power to repair existing buildlags: It was said to be absolutely necessary that this increased power should be given them. Other changes suggested wore that tbo Mayor and' Councillors should go into office on the same day, and that in case of a tie at an election the returning officer should be required to decide the electioa”by lot publicly.' Tho Premier, in reply, agreed it was necessary that Hospitals and Charitable should have power given them to acquire land as bad been suggested.
