I would recommend agitation in this matter. I passed through the Motu district some time ago when on a visit to Gisborne, and was thnher f r k Ck f quantity of finOV timber to be found there for milling poses , but through isolation, practically valueloss except for local requirements, it seems a pity that such lovely straight timber shouid be allowed to bo destroyed for want of communication with tho outside world, and especially Gisborne. If tho Government could be induced to push the railway on to the Motu it would certainly hfnS re P rod " ctlV6 ,work; for not only is the land of good quality, but a source of revenue is to be found in the timber for a great many years to come.
