NEW ZEALAND WHEELMEN

At a mooting of the Council of the League of New Zealand Wheelmen tonight, the Fedoral Cycling Council of Australia notified the League that it would recognise New Zealand riders competing in Australia, providing its action were reciprocated by New Zealand Council. It was decided to recognise Australian riders competing in New Zealand. The Palmerston North Cycling and Athletic Club was affiliated. It was decided to call upon a certain amateur to produce trophies according to the rules. It was decided to suggest to the two clubs in Palmerston North to combine to» form a centre for the Manawatu district. Notice of motion was given that the League assume control of auto-mobile racing. It was decided to issue u circular to ufl' affiliated 6ports promoting bodies' in the North.leland and Weet Coast of the&'aih" Island, pointing out tho adv-ntag» of holding all cycling races under the League auspices, and agreeing to arrange daring the coming season for circuit!) of race meetings, at which the leading “ cracks " of the colony will compete, and at which motor competitons will also be a feature, in pursuing this policy it was decided to appoint E. Nordon as special representative of the League t 0 visit the North Island and West Coast, with the object of personally interviewing the various sports bodies, and making arrangements for their meetings being held under the League rules. °
