Our Poututu correspondent writes unde; date of ;he 25th inst:—

Y’ery rough weather has been experienced here recently with heavy rain, and the rivers are in hood.

The telephone line ha 3 been broken in several places, but i: is hoped it will be tepaired in a few days. The settlers are busy pushing the line on to the Motu Hotel.

Several new settlers have passed through here to make a start on the sections in tbe Motu which were lately thrown open. Air AlcGregor is at present ni the Motu making arrangements for the erectiou of bis factory.
