LAUNCESTON, June 21
Five fresh eases of small-pox occurred in the town yesterday, tho patients including Dr Bernard, homo surgeon at the hospital. 'Pile houses and patients have been isolated, and every precaution taken. The Union Company insist that all passengers applying for tickets must produce vaccination certificates. it the New Zealand Government imposes - stringent regulations, the company will temporarily abandon Hobart, as a port, of call, but, a diicct cargo boat will be put on tk " Hobart Melbourne trade, and passengers will have to go via Launceston. Consternation prevails over the fact, that since the fifth Inst, fifteen persons have been discharged from the hospital after suffering what is now known to he small-pox, and aro liable to spread the disease in all directions. A large number of vaccinations have taken place. Strict precautions are being taken in other States against Tasmania, which is declared to lie infected. THE WAKRIMOO.

pox in Tasmania, the Govcrnm have decided to impose from 10-uay quarantine of eight days on all vessels from Tasmanian ports. As regards Australian shipping generally, the same practice will he followed in this colony as during the plague epidemic, vessels being disinfected, passengers rigorously inspected and licensed out.
PLAGUE SCARE IN AUCKLAND WELLINGTON, last night.
A case of supposed plague is reported from Auckland, the victim being a newspaper runner, a hoy.
The patient and his family have been isolated.
