FAREWELL LUHCHEON.

Invercargill, last night.
At the farewell luncheon with tho Revs. MacDonald and Rayucs, representing the British and Foreign Bible Society. Mr Baynes said that he desired to thank the Government for granting them freo railway passes over the .railways, and especially Sir J. Ward for tho kindness and courtesy in granting tickets. They further desired to acknowledge! the great assistance tho press of tho colony had •fivon them, and the kindness of their umiiv hosts who had made the journey so plca» :ut by their forethought and attention. Mr Spencer, New Zealand agent of tho Society, was also thanked for what he had liouo in smoothing the road. The whole function was a singularly happy one, and tho attendance duriug business hours was most gratifying.
