A RACING DECISION.
WRONGFUL DISQUALIFICATION OF A HORSE. Per Press Association Wellington, last night. The judges appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference to hear the appeal of J. Christie against the decision of the Greymouth and Reefton Clubs disqualifying the horse Killarncy for the hurdle races at- Reefton on March 27th have come to a conclusion on the matter. They disallowed technical objections to the appeal, and find (hat the rules which prevent the entry or running of horses while the owner is in the unpaid forfeit cannot be extended or interpreted so as to require or authorise striking such horse out of a race because at the time when some intermediate payment falls due the owner is in the unpaid forfeit list. The judges allow the appeal, and direct the Reefton Club to pay stakes in the race to the owner of Killarney.
