It is officially announced thut Mr Alexander Miehe, win had been temporarily discharging the duties of General Manager of tho Bank for some months, has tlecided to return to Duuedin and resume there his position of branch manager. Tho directors hud hoped he would nuve seen his way to have remained permanently in Wellington at the head of affairs, hut for family reasons ho was unabfb to do so. The directors therefore 1 .
offered a goueral managership to Mr Alexander Mackintosh, who has for over five years discharged the duties of chief auditor, and has consequently an intimate knowledge of the business of tho bank. Jio has accepted tho position. Mr Mackintosh was trained in a Scotch bank, wus for many years in the service of the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney, and was General Manager of the iloyal Bank of Queensland wnon ho acceptod at tho hunds of Government the New Zealand office of Chief Auditor of tho Bank of New Zealand.
