Waimato, last night.

A single woman, about 40, named Matilda Alaudo, shot herself this morning with a revolver. She was a lady-help with Mrs Henderson, who found her lying unconscious on the bed, at about 9 o’clock, with a bullet wound near the heart, and another in the head. Sho is still alive, but is not expected to recover. It appears that a five-chambered revolver was kept loaded in tho house, Two barrels worn discharged. The woman was cheerful up to a few minutes of the deed. No reason for the act has been dis- I closed.
