TEN O’CLOCK CLOSING IN WELLINGTON. I Per Press Associati in. Wellington, last night. Tho City Licensing Committee mot today for tho consideration of applications which had been adjourned. Tho Committee again adjourned tho issue of lieensos to the Panama, Metropolitan, Now Zealander and Caledonian Hotels, ponding information being given in regard to the condition (C the buildings and contemplated repairs. ’Hie existence oi dives at tho Empire, C’cil, and Oriental Hotols was objected to by the Committee, who intimated that they intended to abolish those places. Counsel, however, contended that it was not within the power of tho Committee to attach conditions to licensee. Further consideration of those hotels was adjourned until the 60th inst. The Committee intimated that they would not reconsider the extension of tho closing hour until 11 o’clock. All licenses would bo for 10 p.tn.
