HAYGARTH’S COMEDY COMPANY.
11 CHARLEY’S AUNT ” THIS EVENING. j At the Theatre Royal this evening the Haygarth Comedy Company commence a I season of four nights, opening with the ever popular play “ Charley’s Aunt.” Referring to the performs, nee of Mr Haygarth in this comedy the Auckland Herald says : — 11 Mr E. D. Haygarth took the part of “ Babs,” the ob liging youth who goeß through so much fc r his college chums, and gave a capital and very amusing interpretation of the aunt. In the second act the fun increases, and culminates in the third act, and both of these were productive of good heurty laughter. Mr Haygarth’s make-up was splendid, and his facial expression was decidedly clever. He kept up the by-play necessitated by his dual character of “ Bans ” and the lady who had lately arrived from the land of nuts in such a manner that never failed to tell and evoke the hilarity of the large audience.
At this evening’s performance the music will be supplied by an orchestra under Mr Gittos’ leadership, which is a guarantee that it will be first-class. There should be a large attendance. The box-plan is at the London Piano and Music House.
