he following cablegram in referee 'e to the above was received last fW ek “ (Ja/Hain Charles Allred Pircy Gardener, described as a na-ti-’e of Victoria, was charged at How .Street Police Court with abducting a girl named Frances Lesar, aged 17. •The prisoner informed the police that he had been long acquainted with the Lesars. ile found the girl on beard the White .Star liner Runic Wien sailing from Capetown. ile fruitlessly tried to persuade her to return, and lie also tried to send her back from TenerifTe. lie was remanded. Hail was refused.”
