LIBERAL ASSOCIATION MEETING.

(To the Editor Gisborne Times.)

Sir, —Allow me to correct an error which crept into your report of the Liberal Association’s meeting on Friday last. When referring to the letter sent by the railway employees you state, The Chairman said he thought they should not interfere in the matter ; the difficulty was the question of the ba'lot referred to.” Now, sir, sueh were not my sentiments, as the other portion of your report shows. In fact, my strong contention was to forward the letter to the proper quarter to know why those men were disefiarged for a period of three or four months, as it did not sound to me

like prompt advancement, it being the winter season, and the complainants being all married men. Hence my reason for having to trouble you to correct that slight error.—l am, Ac., E. P. Joyce.
