DISCOVERY OF COAL,

Thames, last night.
It is reported that a seurn of good coal, five ieet- wide, has been struck at Puketu district, in the south eastorn portion ot the Hauraki Peninsula. The discovery has not yet beeu reported officially. Experts arc proceeding to tho district with pumps for the purpose of testing tho coal and ascertaining the value of tho discovery.
