Mr Balfour, replying to a question in the House of Commons, with reference to the expulsion of the Times correspondent at St Petersburg, said the Government was unaware of any precedent for tho expulsion of a British correspondent owing to the tone of the newspaper ho represented, He added that the British Ambassadorsought to obtain a revision of tho order or protect the correspondent from unduly harsh treatment.
