EXCITING EXPERIENCES AT SEA.

The steamer St. Louis, which left Noumea on May 2Slli. and the ship Admiral Ciuuiile, with 3000 tons of ore aboard, in tow, arrived to day after an exciting experience. They encountered ft succession of gales early in the voyage. The bumping of the ship started the towing bits. ‘ On June Ist the tow rope broke. The second went the next day. The weather was so bad that they' were unable to pick up the Camille till the 4th. On the evening of the 7th, when SO miles cast, of Sydney Heads, another tierce gale compelled the steamer to let the tow go. The St, Louis came on to Sydney without tho Camilio. The captain intended making
sail and working up into port as soon as tho weather moderated. The Camilio was bring towed to Sydney for docking, having been ashuro at Noumea, but the damage is not serious. The crew of tho St. Loins had a rough time, and two were slightly injured.
