THE SHIELD MATCHES. Thero was a largo attendance at the bowling green yesterday, when the district Shield matches wore continued. In the morning West End mot Wlmtanpoko, and a most exciting game resulted in a victory for Whataupoko by one point. In tho afternoon City defeated Wbataupoko in both rinks, the aggregate score being 46 to 27. The following are the details of the day’s play : Wbataupoko v. Total 46 Total 27 City has yet to meet West End, and if successful in that match will win the Shield. If City is defeated by West End the three Clubs will again be level. An effort will be made to get tho match off this afternoon.
