By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. I'hc North Now Zealand Grand National Meeting was continued to-day in fine weather. The sum of £9754 wus put through the totalisator. Following are the results : Maiden Hurdles.—Spalpeen, Mclntosh, 1; Up to-Dute 2, Fencer 3. Leona and Waimaria were scratched. Spalpeen held bis own all along. Time 3.421, divs. £2 16-i and 1 ui. Maiden Welter.—Muskerdulc, Ryan, 1 ; Dish and lan dead heat for second place. Ail started. Won by half a length. Time 1.54, divs. £lO 7s 6d aud £1 3s Cd and £1 Is 6d.
Grand National Hurdles. Battleaxe, Johnston ... ... 1 Haydn... ... ... ... 2 Tresham ... ... ... 3 Cannorigate, Bellman, Oingo, Miss Dtury, and Siidar. Tresham, Lady Bell, and Haydn were prominent in tho early srages, but Battleaxe, who made up a lot of ground at the back the second time round, caught thorn a couple of furlongs from home, and ultimately won easily by owo lengths. Tally Ho Steeplechase. Nor’-West, Wright, I ; Stray bird 2, Sudden 8. Tuni ami Ilyins were scratched. Won by eight lengths. Tune 6 SO, div. £2 9s. Brincc of Wales’ Handicap.—St. Olga, Haratutu and Miss Lottie dead-heated for first place. Durablo and Camille were scratched. A great finish. The three horses wore a dead-beat, with Afaroon and I Gold and Cygnet close up. Time 1.381. D:vs., St. Olga £1 7s (kl, Paratutu £1 4s 6<l, Miss Lottie £5 Js.
