FARMERS' DELEGATES.
By T'olograph—Press Association. Palmerston North, last night. A conference of delegates from tho Fanners’ Union in the Wellington provincial district was opened here this morning, and is expected to terminate to-morrow. There is a large attendance, practically all tho branches being represented. Tho Chairman, Mr J. G. Wilson, President of the (Juiuuiui Executive, delivered a lengthy address, dealing with tho work and objects already achieved by tho Union, and ho expressed tho opinion that tho House would Imvo to come to some decision regarding tho question of laud tenure during tho coining session. The election of officers resulted: —President, Mr J. G. Wiison (ro-clocicdj; vice-president, MrH. Peat (Wanganui); auditor, Mr W. Rutherlurd, Palmerston (re-elected). Tho balancesheet, disclosing a satisfactory state of affairs, was adopted. The ordinary business is now proceeding, A lengthy discussion is taking place on questions affecting land tenure, moved by the To Horo, Taihupo, Raugiwhia and other Lintons.
