In reply to 1 lie invitation of the Cook County Liberal Association for him to visit Gisborne on his way down to Wellington, the lion. 11 allJones, .Minister for Public Works, telegraphed to the Secretary of the Association : “Am sorry i cannot, spare the time to call at; Gisborne tins trip. My arrangements arc all made for travelling overland via the North Island Main Trunk line from Auckland to Wellington. With kind regards.” The Premier replied as follows : “ i am due at Wanganui to open the Victoria wing of 1 lie Hospital there on the 2.lth, and regret therefore, being unable on this occasion to call at Gisborne. Give my best wishes to friends, and tell them that I will come down and see them as soon as 1 can, and in the meantime Kia Ora to all.”-
