GOVERNMENT DECIDES TO MAKE IT A GRADING PORT.

We are pleased to learn that the efforts to have Gisborne constituted a grading port have been successful, and that the Government has acceded to the request made by tho farmers, and so long advocated by the Toms. We have received the following pleasing message from the lion. J. Carroll for the information of the public : —“ You can say that the Government has decided that Gisborne shall he a grading port. The lion. Mr Duncan and myself are to arrange conditions.”
