The men have all day been discussing the situation, including a proposal tin take a ballot mi the question of accepting Mr Irvine's terms. Probable it will not he decided till late to-night. The Strike Executive expressed their willingness to sacrifice six of their number, including .Messrs Hurt and Scorer, if the Commission considers the claims of others who dirt not lake such an active part in the dispute.
MEN TO RESUME WORK TO-DAY

A deputation from the strikers asked the Premier not to press his order to dis miss tiie leading strikers. Mr Irvine refused, but agreed to withdraw tiie declaration, leaving the men the opportunity of testing their legal position without signing away their rights. The men agreed to resume work to-morrow morning.
