Without any wanting, defendant struck him a violent blow on the month, split ting his lip, knocking out one tooth, and loosening two others, Jlis Worship imposed a line of three pounds, and costs 111 Ills, or in default seven days’ hard labor, iii the evening, word came to hand (hat iShacklcton was in a critical condition of health as the result of poison. A neighbor had found him in a very had stale. Dr. Morrison was promptly called to the scene, and the sufferer was removed to the Hospital. lie admitted that owing to trouble lie had taken a done of “rough on rats.” ~ At a late hour last night, the patient was still in a critical condition tin i llierc was every hope of saving his life. lie was married on Tuesday last, so that the whole circumstances are of a sad nature,
